Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Project Increased Behavioral Health Screening In Primary Care From 17% To 80%

The Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Project (MCPAP) increased the number of children who receive primary care behavioral health screening from 17% when the project began in 2004, to 80% in fiscal year 2013. MCPAP provides telephone child psychiatry consultations and specialized care coordination support to over 95% of pediatric primary care professionals in Massachusetts who care for over 95% of children in the state. In fiscal year 2013, the MCPAP served 10,553 children.
