North Carolina Public Behavioral Health MCO/LMEs To Consolidate By July 2016
The nine organizations that manage the public behavioral health system in North Carolina are preparing to consolidate into three or four regional managed care organizations (MCOs) by July 1, 2016. The consolidation will take place in two stages. During state fiscal year 2014-2015, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) expects that two mergers will take place, leaving a total of seven MCOs.
