Medicare To Cut 2015 Reimbursements By 1% For More Than 250,000 Physicians Who Failed To Meet Meaningful Use Program Standards
Medicare is cutting reimbursements by one percent during calendar year 2015 for more than 250,000 physicians who failed to meet the reporting requirements of the Meaningful Use program. The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) noted the pending reduction in the Medicare physician fee schedule, and in an announcement on December 17, 2014. About 28,000 of the more than 250,000 affected eligible professionals will be subject to a reimbursement cut of two percent because they also failed to meet the minimum e-prescribing requirements.
