Mental Health Surveillance Among Children in the United States, 2005-2011

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a report describing the results of the surveillance of mental health among children in the U.S. between 2005 and 2011. The May 17, 2013 report describes current independent federal surveillance systems that address different health issues and populations, and are used to estimate the prevalence of mental disorders and their symptoms among children in the U.S. The results showed that 13%- 20% of children living in the U.S. experience a mental disorder in a given year, and that Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder was the most prevalent . . .
