Texas Legislature Considering Pausing Foster Care Reforms
On January 6, 2015, the Texas House Of Representatives Committee on Human Services recommended that the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) pause its rollout of foster care redesign (FCR) reforms to privatize the state’s foster care system under case-rate contracts with Single Source Continuum Contractors who serve pre-determined catchment areas.
