Less Than 40% of U.S. Physicians Have Electronic Medical Records
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News Although use of full or partial electronic medical records (EMR) increased by about one-third between 2006 and 2008, only 38.4% of U.S. office-based physicians reported having an EMR system. About 20.4% reported having a minimally functional system which included orders for prescriptions, orders for tests, viewing laboratory or imaging results, and clinical notes.
