Enrollment in Medicaid-Focused Health Plans Increasing
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News In 2007, enrollments in Medicaid-focused health plans increased to 11.3 million, up from 9.8 million in 2006. In 2007, more than half, 53% of the 20.9 million Medicaid eligible individuals enrolled in full risk managed care were covered by a Medicaid focused health plan. Medicaid-focused health plans provided services in 32 states. A Medicaid-focused health plan predominately serves Medicaid, State Children’s Health Insurance Programs, and other public insurance programs for low income and vulnerable individuals.
