Federal Department of Veterans Affairs Expands Deployment of Mobile Pharmacies

OPEN MINDS On-Line News Strategic Health Care News On March 18, 2008, the federal Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) expanded its deployment of mobile pharmacies to deliver medicine when patients are unable to fill their prescriptions. The first unit was deployed on September 11, 2007; the second was scheduled to be deployed in March 2008, but has not been delivered yet. Plans call for units to be stationed at Dallas, Texas; Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and Charleston, South Carolina; a fourth will be placed in the western United States, but no state has been selected yet.
