New Jersey Law to Expand Use of Drug Court
OPEN MINDS On-Line News Social Services New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine signed a new law that will expand the states use of drug courts and community-based services for drug offenders. The legislation, Assembly Bill, No. 1770, would expand community-based services to increase efficiency within the prison system; nonviolent first time drug offenders would receive treatment and parolees would not face prison for minor drug offenses.
