73% of Medical Tourism Patients Rely on Internet for Hospital & Destination Information

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News Research is emerging on how Americans make decisions about using foreign health care services through medical tourism. About three-fourths (73%) of people who traveled to another country to receive medical care researched information on destinations and hospitals on the Internet. About half (49%) of patients who engaged in medical tourism heard about the possibility on the Internet. These are preliminary results of a patient survey conducted by the Medical Tourism Association.
