41% of Employers Planning to Increase Medical Cost-Sharing in Health Plans

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News About 41% of employers indicated that they planned to increase medical cost sharing, but only 26% planned to increase prescription drug cost sharing. Companies also indicated that they intended to improve wellness programs. These were the findings of a survey titled, “PricewaterhouseCoopers: Health and Well-Being Touchstone Survey: Executive Summary: June 2010,” by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Additional findings included the following: The PPO model plan was the most common plan offered by employers. Almost two-thirds (63%) of companies had their highest enrollment in PPO plans.
