New Jersey Passes New Mental Health Commitment Law, Includes Outpatient Treatment Statute

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Mental Health & Chemical Dependency Services On June 25, 2009, the New Jersey Legislature passed a bill, S735, establishing involuntary commitment to outpatient mental health treatment for persons in need of involuntary commitment to treatment. The bill has been sent to Governor Jon Corzine, who has until August 9 to sign it into law.
