ACLU Sues Texas Youth Commission
OPEN MINDS On-Line News Childrens Services On June 12, 2008, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Texas filed a class action lawsuit against the Texas Youth Commission (TYC) on behalf of five girls at the Brownwood State School high security youth prison. In the lawsuit, the ACLU charges that the treatment of the girls at Brownwood violates their constitutional rights under the Fourth, Fifth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments.
