New York Developmental Centers Receive $1.7 Million Per Person Annually to Provide Care
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Intellectual & Developmental Disability Services The New York Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) has been receiving $4,556 in state and federal Medicaid funding per person per day in 2009-2010 to provide care for the 1,400 residents at its nine developmental centers for people with developmental disabilities. Annually, the centers receive about $1.6 million per person; however, the actual cost of care is about two-thirds lower.
