UnitedHealthcare Rolls Out Telehealth Project for Rural Colorado
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News On August 17, 2009, UnitedHealthcare announced the launch of a new telehealth project with the state of Colorado for its Connected Care program. UnitedHealthcare will contribute $2 million for the program. The Colorado hospital system, Centura Health, will provide physicians for the virtual consultations. The pilot will start in early 2010. State officials are selecting four rural communities for the pilot program, but have not made their final selections. Overall, the project will treat up to 4,800 people annually.
