Economic Stress Caused 22% of Consumers to Cut Physician Visits

OPEN MINDS On-Line News Strategic Health Care News More than 22% of adults responding to a survey in July 2008 said they have reduced their number of physician visits due to economic difficulties. About 11% said they reduced the number of prescription medications they take or cut the dosage to make the prescription last longer. The following subgroups indicated cutting back on physician visits: 30% of female respondents 38% of young adults between the ages of 18 and 34 35% of respondents with household incomes below $25,000 — this subgroup had a high percentage of those also cutting back . . .
