OPEN MINDS On-Line News Senior Support Services On October 21, 2008, Louisiana-based LHC Group announced plans to acquire HomeCall Inc., a home health agency with 12 branch locations in Maryland. The move will enable LHC to enter the state of Maryland and expand its operations throughout the mid-Atlantic region. The acquisition is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2008. HomeCall, Inc., and its sister agency HomeCall Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., are owned by Mid Atlantic Medical Services, LLC, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group.
