Private Fee-For-Service Medicare Advantage Plans Receive Reimbursements 16% Higher Than Traditional Medicare
OPEN MINDS On-Line News Strategic Health Care News For 2008, private fee-for-service (PFFS) Medicare Advantage plans will receive reimbursements from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that are about 16.6% higher than reimbursements for the traditional fee-for-service Medicare program. The higher payments are similar to those paid to private managed care plans offered under Medicare Advantage; however, the PFFS plans are not required to offer the same type of coordinated care required of the Medicare Advantage managed care plans.
