APS Wins Maryland HMO Contract

OPEN MINDS On-Line News APS Healthcare (formerly American Psych Systems) announced today that it began providing behavioral health care services to members of the Preferred Health Network (PHN), a Maryland-based HMO. The new contract, effective September 1, 2000, covers behavioral health care for approximately 95,500 PHN commercial HMO members in Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware. APS maintains a network of over 1,500 behavioral healthcare providers in PHN's service area, and will administer services from their national service center in Bethesda.
