Use of Predictive Health IT by New York Visiting Nurses Reduces Hospitalizations 10%
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Disability Support Use of predictive health technology developed by the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) has resulted in a 10% reduction in hospitalizations. In 2001, before the VNSNY started using the technology tools, 37% of its home health patients had to be hospitalized. By 2009, the VNSNY rate of hospitalizations was reduced to only 27% of patients. The organization serves more than 30,000 patients daily in more than a dozen programs.
