Employer Health Care Costs to Increase 8.8% in 2011

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News Employers can expect an average 8.8% increase to their 2011 health care premiums. The projected cost increase is the highest for the past three-year period—in 2010 premiums increased by an average of 6.9%, and by 6.0% in 2009. The higher premium cost for 2011 was attributed to increased charges and catastrophic claims, as well as changes from the new health care reform and an aging population.
