Medicare Launches the Blue Button Personal Health Information Download

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News In September 2010, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) launched the Download My Data Blue Button —a simplified health information download tool—for Medicare beneficiaries. The button enables beneficiaries to view, download, and print their complete medical record, including data from labs, pharmacies, and physicians’ offices. The goal is to give beneficiaries more control over their health information and make it easy for them to share the information with physicians and caregivers.
