Massachusetts Public & Private Health Care Payers Urged to Increase Use of New Payment Methodologies
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News The Massachusetts Health Care Quality and Cost Council (HCQCC) recommended that the public and private payers immediately increase use of payment methodologies that support system redesign. HCQCC recommended four components of payment reform—increased use of pay-for-performance, bundled or episode-based payments, patient-centered medical homes, and reduced payments for avoidable hospitalizations and avoidable readmissions.
