New York Cuts Spending for Health Care & Human Services due to $1.5 Billion Budget Deficit
OPEN MINDS On-Line News Strategic Health Care News According to the most recent budget deficit reduction plan, released November 12, 2008, the State of New York will cut spending on health care and human services to address the stateÂ’s current $1.5 billion deficit. Cuts in Medicaid reimbursement rates and health care trend factor increases are planned for the 2008-2009 year. Human Services will also be cut by $95 million by cutting cost-of-living adjustments for human service providers from 3.2% to 2.2%.
