Health Insurers’ Group Gave U.S. Chamber $86.2 Million in 2009 for Lobbying
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News Americas Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), a trade group for health plans, lobbied long and hard against the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010; a review of documents filed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce revealed that AHIP had given the organization $86.2 million in 2009 for anti-reform lobbying. The Chamber is a non-profit organization; its 2009 sources of revenue were reported in its Form 990.
