Ohio’s Plans For Integrated Care Delivery System For Dual Eligibles Approved By CMS

On December 12, 2012, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Ohio’s plans for an Integrated Care Delivery System (ICDS) for people eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid, known  as "dual eligibles." ICDS enrollment is slated to begin in 29 counties on September 1, 2013. The ICDS will provide a single point of contact for all beneficiaries and use a managed care approach to improve care coordination for approximately 114,000 dual eligibles.
