Florida Awards Medicaid Long-Term Managed Care Contracts

On January 15, 2013, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) announced it had selected five health plans—American Eldercare, Sunshine State, United, Coventry, and Amerigroup—for contracts to provide Medicaid Long-term Care Managed Care program services under at-risk contracts. The program will enroll the state’s frail elderly and disabled Medicaid beneficiaries, including those dual eligibles who are also enrolled in Medicare. The five plans were selected via competitive solicitation.
