Funding Volume From Crowdfunding Increased 91% In 2012
Total funding volume for worldwide crowdfunding platforms (CFP) increased 91% last year, from an estimated $1.4 billion in 2011 to $2.8 billion in 2012. This includes a 300% growth in equity-based and reward-based crowdfunding, 75% growth in lending-based crowdfunding, and 50% growth in donation-based crowdfunding. During 2011, CFPs ran more than one million successful campaigns.
