CMS Announces 464 Facilities Selected For Medicare Bundled Payment Program

On January 31, 2013, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the selection of 464 health care facilities—representing 109 organizations—to participate in the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI) initiative. Three of the organizations—Dignity Health in California, the Greater New York Hospital Association, and the New Jersey Hospital Association—have 17 hospitals that will receive a bundled payment for any inpatient psychiatric admissions during the initiative.
