Supreme Court to Hear 26-State Challenge To PPACA
In mid-March 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments from the 26 states challenging the legality of health insurance reform aspects of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA). A decision is anticipated by July 2012. The 26 states challenging the law are (in the order they joined the challenge): Florida, South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, Louisiana, Alabama, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Washington, Idaho, South Dakota, Indiana, North Dakota, Mississippi, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Alaska, Ohio, Kansas, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Maine, Michigan, and Iowa.
