25% Drop Predicted In U.S. Hospitals & Health System Revenue Projected Over Next Decade
Between 2012 and 2022, reimbursement revenue for hospitals and health systems in the United States is projected to drop from 15% to 25%, due to payer policy changes. The policy changes are driven by federal efforts to reduce health care spending growth. Decreasing reimbursement revenue is projected to drive up to 20% of independent hospitals and health systems into mergers or acquisitions.
