Medicare Advantage Enrollment Up 9% Between 2011 & 2012

Between 2011 and 2012, Medicare Advantage enrollment increased by 9%, from 11.7 million in 2011 to 12.8 million in 2012. Overall enrollment in Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans (SNPs) for individuals with chronic health conditions, those dually eligible for Medicaid, or residents of institutions increased from 1.3 million to 1.4 million, or about 7.6%.
