NCQA Names First Six ACOs Earning Accreditation
On February 14, 2013, National Committee for Quality Assurance announced it had a granted six organizations a new three-year accreditation credential for Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). The six ACOs earning NCQA accreditation are HealthPartners in Minnesota; Billings Clinic in Montana; Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Crystal Run Healthcare in Middletown, New York; Essentia Health in Duluth, Minnesota; and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston, Texas. These six organizations were the first to apply for the ACO accreditation. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is only children's hospital accredited as an ACO.
