Wisconsin Implementing Health Care Efficiencies Project to Contain Medicaid Costs

Share The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is implementing a Health Care Efficiencies Project to identify and develop cost containment and efficiency reforms to help the state reduce its Medicaid spending for the 2012-2013 biennium. In addition to the Efficiencies Project, the Governor’s proposed budget includes a variety of changes to reduce Medicaid spending by $500 million over the next biennium, beginning with increased flexibility for DHS to pursue additional cost containment approaches.
