E-Reminders Improve Medication Adherence Rates In Patients With Chronic Conditions
When patients with chronic health conditions received an electronic reminder to take their medications, their short-term medication adherence rates improved according to an analysis of 13 studies. The studies tested a variety of electronic reminder services, including text messages, audiovisual reminders from an electronic reminder device, and pager messages. Improved adherence rates were found in all but one of the 13 studies. These are findings of “The effectiveness of interventions using electronic reminders to improve adherence to chronic medication: a systematic review of the literature” by Marcia Vervloet, Annemiek J. Linn, Julie C.M. van Weert, Dinny H. de . . .
