Oregon Medicaid Releases Performance Baseline Data For Coordinated Care Organizations

Oregon’s 15 new Medicaid coordinated care organizations (CCOs) are expected to meet performance targets for improving coordination of behavioral health and physical health care services, and other performance targets. The first CCOs started operations in August 2012. The baseline 2011 fee-for-service performance data was released in May 2013. The 15 CCOs each receive a capitated rate and are charged with providing all Medicaid (called the Oregon Health Plan) health care services (other than Medicaid long-term care services) through coordinated care contracts that use alternative payment methodologies to focus on prevention, improving health equity, and reducing health . . .
