Veterans Health Administration Expands Hospital-At-Home Program Through Philadelphia Pilot

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is expanding its Hospital-at-Home program with a pilot program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philadelphia's Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) received funding in the fall of 2011 to pilot the Hospital-at-Home program for one year. Hospital-at-Home provides hospital-level care for specific diagnoses amenable to treatment in the comfort of a person’s own home. The Hospital-at-Home service array includes the following: Daily physician oversight of all evaluations, including physician home visit(s) Daily registered nurse evaluations in the home 24-hour telephone access to a registered nurse . . .
