Walgreens & Johns Hopkins Medicine Enter Chronic Disease Management Venture
On May 25, 2011, Walgreens and Johns Hopkins Medicine announced an agreement to develop chronic disease management protocols. Walgreens will provide access to de-identified records in its patient base to health care professionals affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine and will jointly refine research, protocols, and training programs for Walgreens health care service providers. Access to the Walgreens patient base will enable Johns Hopkins Medicine researchers to develop and advance large-scale studies to promote population-based research.
