State’s Health Insurance Marketplace Premiums Lower Than Federal Estimates
In the first nine states to release monthly premium prices for health insurance purchased through state health insurance marketplaces, the premiums for the “Silver” plan level that will be used to set the federal premium subsidies appear to be lower than federal estimates for 2016. The federal nationwide estimate was $433 per month for the second lowest price plan that covers 70% of health care claims for average enrollee.
