Hawaii Medicaid Preparing to Launch Patient-Centered Health Homes in 2012
The Hawaii Medicaid plan, QUEST, is preparing to launch patient-centered health homes (PCHH) in January 2012 as part of its Medicaid expansion to cover low-income uninsured childless adults earning no more than 132% of the federal poverty line. By implementing PCHH, the Hawaii Department of Human Services (DHS) has the goal of improving the quality of care for Medicaid recipients without increasing the state’s Medicaid expenditures, despite the coverage expansion.
