Feds Block New Home Health Provider Applications For Medicare, Medicaid, Or CHIP Participation In Sections Of Florida & Illinois

On July 30, 2013, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Florida and Illinois Medicaid officials implemented a six-month moratorium on approving new home health provider organizations applications to participate in Medicare and/or Medicaid through practice locations in certain counties. The CMS contractor for the region and state Medicaid program will deny all new or pending applications for participation in Medicare, Medicaid, or the federal Children’s Health Insurance Program.
