Expat Workers At Higher Risk Of Mental Health Disorders
Expatriate Americans working abroad have higher levels of stress and are 2.5 times more likely to experience anxiety or depression than their U.S.-based counterparts. Expats are also at higher risk of experiencing addiction issues. The higher level of stress and elevated risk of addiction disorder indicates that expats may need specialized employee assistance programs or mental health services.
