15 New Medicare ACOs Participating In Advance Payment Model

On July 18, 2012, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that 15 new accountable care organizations (ACOs) will receive upfront payments through the Advance Payment Model to help them implement practice changes to coordinate care. A total of 20 ACOs are now participating in the Advance Payment Model. The next round of applications for participation in the Advance Payment Model will opened August 1, 2012 with a start date of January 1, 2013.
