L.A. Care Health Plan To Launch Medi-Cal E-Consulting Program

In early 2012, L.A. Care Health Plan intends to start an e-consulting portal that will permit referring Medicaid physicians and specialists to exchange electronic health information and automate the specialist referral and appointment processes. Training and workflow redesign will start in early 2012; by June 2012, the health plan hopes to have about 47 safety net clinic sites live.
