Wisconsin Submits New BadgerCare Waiver To Enroll Uninsured Adults Earning No More Than 100% FPL
On August 9, 2013, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) submitted an application for a new five-year, Section 1115 BadgerCare Plus Demonstration Project Waiver that will expand Medicaid coverage to uninsured, low-income adults not otherwise eligible for Medicaid and whose family income does not exceed 100% of the federal poverty line (FPL). The waiver population is similar to the Medicaid expansion population under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA), with the exception of a lower income limit.
