Ohio Merging Department Of Mental Health With Alcohol & Drug Addiction Services

Ohio’s Department of Mental Health (ODMH) and Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS) are in the process of consolidating their processes and operations in an initiative to create a new, not yet named, cabinet level agency. The administration will seek statutory authority for the consolidation with a target effective date of July 1, 2013. The primary goal is to improve access to services, support better client outcomes, and to reduce the regulatory burden on Ohio businesses.
