Louisiana Selects Five Organizations To Manage & Coordinate Medicaid Care

On July 25, 2011, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) selected five private companies for contracts to coordinate or manage Medicaid services; the contracts are valued together at $2.2 billion. The five organizations include AmeriGROUP Louisiana; Amerihealth Mercy of Louisiana Inc.; Community Health Solutions of America Inc.; Louisiana Healthcare Connections Inc.; and UnitedHealthcare of Louisiana Inc. The coordinated care management networks (CCN) will be rolled out over the next year to 875,000 low-income residents. Enrollments will begin in New Orleans and the Northshore areas of the state on November 15, 2011; the services go live . . .
