Illinois Medicaid Eligibility Redetermination Project Finds 3.7% Of Illinois Medicaid Enrollees Ineligible
During redetermination reviews conducted between January and July 2013, about 3.7% of the 2.7 million Illinois Medicaid beneficiaries were found ineligible for Medicaid. The reviews were conducted through the Illinois Enhanced Medicaid Eligibility Verification Project, which the project's launch in January has completed nearly 195,000 case verifications. Of the cases reviewed, more than 101,276 cases (52%) were ineligible to participate because they did not meet income, residency, or identity criteria.
