10 States With Medicaid Managed Care Failed To Collect Available Pharmacy Rebates From Drug Manufacturers
Ten of the 22 states that have Medicaid managed care with carved-in pharmacy failed to collect pharmacy rebates from drug manufacturers that were available to them as of October 2011. The remaining 12 states collected $1.6 billion between the second quarter of 2010 through the second quarter of 2011. The 10 states that have not collected include California, District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia.
