Massachusetts Moving To Integrated Managed Care Model for Dual Eligible Population in 2012
The state of Massachusetts is planning to integrate the financing and management of care for dual eligibles by using a global payment methodology in which a contracted entity will receive blended Medicare and Medicaid funds to provide case management, primary care, and behavioral care services. In April 2011 Massachusetts was one of 15 states selected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to participate in an 18-month demonstration to integrate Medicare and Medicaid benefits for dual eligibles.
